Sharn Khaira - Your Host
Hello there! I am thrilled you have found us. I’m Sharn and I am a mindset and marketing mentor as well as an international motivational speaker. Having built two successful business from the ground up I know exactly what tools and strategies you need to succeed. My mission is to inspire and motivate Asian women globally to break down cultural and economic barriers so that women can be the best versions of themselves unapologetically.
My goal and purpose of this event is for you to leaving super confident and ready to step into the highest version of yourself – unapologetically!
SHARN Khaira - Speaker
Sharn Khaira is an ex-luxury wedding planner in Asian and Fusion weddings at Desi Bride Dreams. She is an advocate for Asian Female Entrepreneurs and has set up the AFEC (Asian Female Entrepreneurs Collective) to help others be successful in business.
She loves helping female entrepreneurs step into their purpose, and she views it as an honor to watch as they discover the best versions of themselves while creating the impact and income they crave. She believes you can build the life you desire because anything is possible. Why? She has walked the same path.
She grew up on the roughest streets of Swindon surrounded by drugs and prostitutes. Then she became a bullied corporate employee where she felt stuck, unfulfilled, and miserable. Through every phase of my life, she never failed to realise she held the power to change my own course. So, I decided to leave my high-flying marketing agency role with a firm belief that I was meant for more than days spent working 9-5 with a mere 4 weeks of holiday per year. She was laughed at but she knew I had it in her.
Sharn left university and started work just as the recession in 2009 began to bite. Long hours and a culture of workplace bullying didn’t beat Sharn entirely but her job certainly wasn’t making her happy. Sharn left her high-flying agency marketing role to follow her heart and found a very different style of business in the wedding planning world when she launched Desi Bride Dreams in September 2015.
Desi Bride Dreams has been featured in some of the biggest UK wedding titles including You & Your Wedding magazine and Perfect Wedding magazine. The power bloggers behind the likes of B.Loved, Nu-Bride, and Secret Wedding Blog have also supported Desi Bride Dreams, a rarity for a new business.
Sharn has also spoken out about the Asian wedding market and her role for titles such as Asian Today and Asian Leader as well as being featured on the BBC Breakfast show as a guest expert and the BBC Asian Network. She’s fast becoming the go-to commentator for anything and everything related to Asian weddings.
Apart from having a successful wedding planning business, she knew she had a deeper and more meaningful calling. In 2017 she set up a community for Asian Female Entrepreneurs so they could come together to talk about business, cultural challenges, Taboo topics, and more! The group now has over 1600 members.
Now Sharn is on a global mission to support, empower, and educate as many Asian female entrepreneurs as possible to smash down cultural blocks and live the lives they deserve. She started by sharing all she had learned with other female entrepreneurs, and now she serves as a business and mindset mentor, offers one to one mentoring, masterminds.
She is now also the host of the biggest Asian female entrepreneur events in the UK.
She likes to lead by example because if she can do it so can you!

Shivani Pau - Speaker
Shivani Pau is a former management consultant, TEDx Speaker, and Host of the top-rated podcast “A Millennial Mind” where she shares conversations focused on entrepreneurship, mental health, and maximizing overall performance.
Leading workshops centered around increasing performance and productivity at McKinsey & Co, TSB, PayUk & several other corporations Shivani is now bringing her expertise to you at our annual Shine and Rise London event.
Shivani has a social media following of close to 200,000 and she is a living and breathing example that anything is possible for you too.
She will also be hosting a Q&A session at the end of her session so you can get your burning questions answered by Shivani herself.
Noreen Khan - SPEAKER
Noreen Khan is an award-winning TV host and Radio Presenter who has also been making waves on the comedy circuit. She was the host of the BBC Asian Network for over an incredible twelve years and feels most at home on the stage, one reason she found the switch to comedy so natural. Noreen’s warm personality made her a hit when presenting for both the radio and TV and she was chosen to co-host the opening ceremony of the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
Growing up Noreen was surrounded by music; her mother a big fan of playing records in the house, she developed a passion so intense she was sure she needed to delve into a profession which involved music. After presenting on the radio for several years and developing a love of talking to and entertaining people, Noreen says the transition to TV was natural, and so began her career in front of the camera and behind a microphone. Noreen has presented some of the most well-known TV shows in the UK, including: Back in Time for Birmingham, Countdown, Sport Relief, Co-hosted the Edgbaston T20 cricket tournamentand has appeared on Celebrity Mastermind, Celebrity Antiques Road Show and Fighting Talk (BBC Radio 5 Live). In recognition of her talent in on the microphone, Noreen won the Radio Presenter of the Year, Asian Media Awards in 2021.
With a love of being in front of the camera and entertaining people and wanting to focus more on comedy, Noreen stepped down from radio presenting in 2023 and stepped up onto the stage. Her first experience of stand-up comedy was in around 2016 at the Glee Club in Birmingham for a Desi Central Night. After this night, she was hooked. Her show ‘Lol (Ladies of Laughter) with Noreen Khan’ was immensely successful in 2019, and a second tour was announced for 2020, which had equal success. Noreen toured all over the UK creating laughs and memories for all who came to the show. Most recently, Noreen was chosen to take part in the Asian Network Comedy Night held in Birmingham, 2022.
Noreen is also an ambassador for King Charles’s Charity – The British Asian Trust.
Anisha Vasani - Speaker
Anisha Vasani is the Creative Director and Luxury Wedding Planner of Anisha Vasani Creates. She has over 16 years of experience in the wedding industry, including a decade as the Editor of the UK’s biggest and most iconic Asian bridal publication, Asiana Wedding Magazine.
Her exclusive creative wedding consultancy offers services such as luxury wedding and event planning, delivering creative direction, liaising with preferred suppliers and personalised styling.
Anisha offers completely bespoke services based on the client’s needs, from luxury shopping experiences to on-the-day bridal styling- all with the goal of making brides and grooms look timeless and feel spectacular on their big day.
She has helped many couples both in the UK and internationally, with some of her famous and most trusted clients including Bollywood musician Kanika Kapoor, radio host DJ Neev Spencer, and influencer Faryal Makhdoom Khan. Krishma Maya Mandalia, professionally known as Maya Dahlia Cakes, has dedicated herself to the art of baking since 2018, with the inception of her business dating back to 2013. With nearly a decade of experience, Krishma's journey into the world of baking began as a passionate venture alongside her role as a reward consultant in the corporate sector.
Transitioning from the fast-paced environment of the city, Krishma took the bold step to pursue her culinary passion full-time.
Focused on creating a brand that would afford her a steady year-round workflow while allowing her to work from home, Krishma's initial goal was to strike a balance between her career and the desire to start a family. Marni Kaur is the CEO of BIBI London, a successful fashion designer, mother and entrepreneur.
She was responsible for bringing Indian Couture to the United Kingdom back in 2011. But she would say her fashion journey began from when was ten years old. BIBI London is now home to the largest collection of Indian couture in Europe, and alongside this in 2023 Marni has launched MKC, a collision between Western and South-Asian fashion, her own line that seeks to celebrate your individual style.
Marni also has a secret addiction to all things creative, and owns her own music and photography studios; within these spaces, the worlds of fashion, photography and music merge to bring artists and people from all around the world together in one space.
